Founded in 1964 we play our Rugby, courtesy of the Methuen Estate, at the Fortress Lacock Road. Here we have pitches, training facilities and our own Clubhouse, which is available for private hire.
We are a family orientated community based club, so whether you want to play every Saturday or are just returning to the game, all levels are welcome.
A successful 2006/07 campaign saw the first team clinch the Dorset & Wilts Division 1 North title and an immediate return to Southern Counties South, the second team top Dorset & Wilts Division 3 West, as well as winning the Dorset & Wilts 2nd XV Bowl, and two junior teams go all the way to the Dorset & Wilts finals. The under 13s won their final, while the under 17 colts put up a gallant display before losing out to Salisbury.
On the back of this success, the club is determined to move forward again this coming season and have appointed a new head coach, Nick Cavill, to help us towards our aims - successful campaigns in both Southern Counties South and Dorset & Wilts Division 2 North, the formation and development of a third team, and the integration and development of our colts into the senior ranks. The junior section is certainly laying down strong foundations for the future success of the club, with some 200 youngsters on the books and more expected to join up this season.
Off the field, meanwhile, the club unveiled brand new floodlights at the Lacock Road ground this season, and have just embarked on a £20,000 upgrade of the club pitches. Other projects are already in the pipeline, so watch this space.
